This is a fun picture book, which I have very fond memories of from my childhood. I bought myself a copy for my personal library (and re-read it when I did so) because it's got a great message and I wanted to have the reminder on my shelf. ( )

This is seriously one of my favorite books of all time. I used to read it at my grandma's house, and I'm still a little surprised that my sweet little grandma had something so subversive on her bookshelf. ( )

Mr. Plumbean lives on a street where all the houses look the same, and everyone likes it that way. Everything changes when Mr. Plumbean decides to paint his house to reflect his colorful dreams. Although neighbors are upset at first, one by one they talk to Mr. Plumbean who convinces them to use their imaginations to transform their houses to reflect their dreams. ( )
