Rosie's Baby Tooth isn't like all the other books about losing teeth. Usually, we have books about how kids are excited to lose their teeth and trade it with the tooth fairy for money. Here, we are presented with Rosie, a little girl who has lost her first tooth and is struggling with giving it up. She knows that she has had that tooth since she was a baby and didn't want the tooth fairy to take it from her because she felt it was special. She hid the tooth and told her parents that it was gone. Her dad convinces her to write a letter to the tooth fairy that her tooth was missing. Her dad, posing as the tooth fairy, writes a letter back telling her that if she finds the tooth and puts it under her pillow, then she will put the tooth on the chain so she can keep it. This book deals with kids not wanting to give up what they consider is theirs. Like in the earl developmental stage, kids that are potty training get used when you flush their pee and poop down the toilet. They have to learn that we can't keep everything. This book is the middle ground between keeping what you want but still living a part of it up. ( )

This is another cute story for young children about losing teeth. I would read it to maybe Kindergartners, or first graders. I think they would enjoy it, and be able to relate. ( )

I thought this was a very cute book about Rosie the rabbit that didn't want to give up her tooth to the tooth fairy so she wrote the tooth fairy a note saying she lost it and put it under her pillow. Then, the tooth fairy wrote Rosie a note back saying if she found her tooth she'd put it in a gold chain for her to keep. This book helps children realize that changing and getting older isn't bad after all. ( )
