This book tells the story of a young girl named Hannah growing up and watching the Brooklyn Bridge being build. This book teaches determination as even though Hannah's father and all the other she tries to convince tell her that the bridge is not safe for her to walk across, she does not give up on her dreams. Her father takes her to the circus to cheer her up about the bridge where Hannah gets the idea to ask P.T. Barnum if he would walk his twenty-one elephants across the bridge to show how safe it is! I admire her determination and love how this book shares an historical event in a different light! ( ) This is a fictionalized account of the P.T. Barnum elephants crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. The reason they crossed the bridge was to inspire confidence in the quality of construction. The illustrations are rich and really enhance the story. The colors help to set the time period in the past, and the clothes and details are true to the time period. I enjoyed this book. Hannah is the only one to believe that the recently built Brooklyn Bridge is safe enough for people to walk on. The only way for her to ever get to walk across it is for her to convince everyone else. With the help of P.T Barnum and his 21 elephants she might be able to do just that. Based on true events. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
