This a great book for counting and teaching things you would see in the woods. The illustrations capture beautiful images of birds, trees, flowers, and bugs. It didn't have much text, but it was very pretty. "Clean the air for everything that breathes." was a quote in the book that stood out to me. ( )

I enjoyed the simple poem the book made along with the style of photography. Showing children how to count in nature should be one of the first ways to teach children to count in my opinon. The child can step outside and find something to count. Making each visit outdoors a potential for learning. ( )

The pictures in this book were just stunning. I loved how they captioned all the pictures to say what they were. I thought it was an interesting. For very young kids, this would be a good and interactive book. I do like the pictures and how the author fused math and nature. You can still have a kid count other things in the pictures. The print is nice and large and the rhymes are short and easy. Not only does it teach counting, but it shows kids all the things they can find in the woods. ( )
