These kids enjoy being in the Mexican market and searching for gifts to give their mother for her birthday. Every other page in the book rhymed and included a pronunciation guide in the back for the readers that are not very fluent in Spanish. I enjoyed being able to read both languages which could also help children learn their basic numbers. The vivid illustrations also brought this story to life. ( ) This book is about counting to ten in both English and Spanish. I liked the book because it shows you both translations, it's very simple and easy to learn, and the illustrations are very rich in culture. I also liked how in the back of the book they show you the pronuciation for the numbers. It's a great tool for teaching Pre-K/Kindergarteners their numbers in Spanish. They can see the numbers and the words in both languages. Personal Response: This story is mostly in English, the only Spanish being the counting. This book offers simple text and I appreciate the repetition of the numbers and the corresponding illustrations so that children can easily understand and follow along with the progression of numbers. I also like the pronunciation guide at the end of the story. Curricular Connections: This story could be included in any counting/math story time. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
