Wanneer Harry Barnett een anoniem telefoontje krijgt met de mededeling dat zijn zoon in coma ligt, reageert hij verbaasd. Hij Weet niet eens dat hij een zoon heeft... Robert Goddard is a master of the mystery genre. Beware - if you read one of his books, you'll probably want to read them all 13 or 14 off the reel.

This story is so far the only Goddard novel to see the return of the hero, Harry Barnett, from an earlier book (Into The Blue). HB is one of the best drawn of RG's characters, though many of his heroes are from the same mould: middle-aged British males with failed careers/marriages thrown by circumstance into the lion's den, where they demonstrate their true mettle.
