caimanjosh: Elizabeth Chadwick strikes me as providing the female perspective on medieval England, while Bernard Cornwell provides a decidedly masculine perspective. Both authors succeed in writing highly entertaining historical fiction with a strong sense of the time period. If you like one, it's definitely worth trying the other.… (mer)
Efter en väldigt stämningsfull inledande beskrivning av landskapet och havet i norra England tyckte jag berättelsen tappade lite kraft. Den var lite för rak. Men efter Gudrums ockupation av Wareham får berättelsen liv igen och man blir som uppslukad av den. Kunde inte sluta läsa. En av de bästa historiska romaner jag läst. Jag kan varmt rekommendera den.
