This was low on possessiveness, which is a plus as far as I'm concerned. World is interesting enough, but there were a few too many characters for me, and I didn't really like the heroine. ( )

I like it. Whatever.
Basically it is a big episode of "Lost Girl" only with ten time more sex, blood, violence, death and all that paranormal/fantasy interracial hatred.
On to the next! ( )

Though I'm reading this series a tad out of order (having read the Lords of Deliverance first), it's nice to meet the people again and to finally read their own story.

It could have been the world we live in now, who knows what goes bump in the night :)
Demons, vampires, werewolves, you name it. On the other side we have the Aegis, demon hunters that kill first and pretty much never ask questions later.
In a world where nothing is just black and white we follow Tayla, an Aegis Guardian and Eidolon a demon doctor. Demons are getting abducted to harvest organs for the black market and it falls to them to figure out who's behind it. Add to that Eidolon will soon go through the Change, which will turn him into a raping and killing machine, and Tayla who's body is shutting down for an unknown reason.

Pacing and flow were good, a good amount of talking, getting to know all the players. Maybe not as much action as I would have liked, but it is the first book of the series, so high hopes for the next instalment.

The book itself was well written and there were no (noticeable) errors. There is a lot of sex described in this book (if that is important to you).

All in all, while I enjoyed the book it didn't really captivate me :(
I will of course read the other books as I look forward to read Shade's story and how he will get rid of his curse... ( )

Not bad, i just can't get into the demon thing ( )
