I loved the message this book sends. It tells kids that there is someone for everyone and I think that is so important for child to know. I also love the illustrations in this book. They are so colorful and thoughtful. They go great with the writing. ( )

This is a good example of picture book/fiction/fable because it talks about a young student (animal) who experiences emotional separation and high emotions for being the last student to be picked up from school. This is something children can relate to in wondering if parents will come back especially at young age and if they are last they question where their parents are. The illustrations are fun to look at and have lots of detail throughout the book. The pictures look like what a school classroom might look like and all the materials that might be the same as what they have in their classroom.

Sarah Weeks has created a story about the loving relationship between a parent and child. The baby animals are awaiting their parents arrival at school and is greeted with sweet compliments by them. I would read this book to my younger elementary children. I think that small children's favorite time of the day is when they are picked up by their mom or dad. It would be fun to hear some of the greeting that the children share with their parents. ( )

My Somebody Special is another rhyming story by Sarah Weeks. This story tells about different students being picked up by their "someone special." It is a very sweet book. I think kids will enjoy the rhyming pattern. I would read this to pre-schoolers because I think that they can relate to having to stay in the classroom while waiting for their guardian to come and pick them up. ( )
