Warriors by Erin Hunter. Clans of cats battle for supremacy. My younger son has really enjoyed these, and he’s not necessarily into animal stories. He can burn through a book a day. Fortunately it’s a big series! This is one of those series that works well for both boys and girls, which I really appreciate. Grades 4-7. Rick Riordan

The New Prophecy book one is about Brambleclaw, Tigerstar's son. Brambleclaw became a new warrior, days after his ceremony, he got a prophecy where a StarClan cat said "Darkness, Air, Water and Sky will come together and shake the forest to its roots. Nothing will be as it is now, nor as it has been before." The StarClan cat also said find Midnight, so he decided not to tell any one and go to the Four Great Oak trees at midnight without anyone noticing. While Cinderpelt, the medicine cat, had a interesting prophecy herself, it said "Lion and Tiger will destroy the forest." So she told Firestar, and they tried to separate them but failed. Only did Squirrelpaw, Firestar's daughter, threatened to tell everyone if he didn't let her go, so she came along. But Leafpaw, the other daughter of Firestar and the apprentice to become the new medicine cat, found them and told them she'd keep the secret. When they got there four other cats were there, Crowpaw from WindClan, Feathertail and Stormfur from RiverClan, Twanypelt, Brambleclaw's only sister, from ShadowClan, and then him and Squirrelpaw from ThunderClan. They finally figured out that they were all part of the prophecy and trekked toward the sun-drown place ( the ocean). They met a cat named Purdy, who helped them get through the Twolegs place. And soon they found Midnight, a very intelligent badger, who told them that the humans will destroy the forest and that they need to tell the clans to escape or die.

I LOVED this one because it's a whole new prophecy, new characters, new adventures, and it's funny. And because Brambleclaw was still stared at differently just because he had the same blood as Tigerstar. But with this adventure he's going to prove that he's just as loyal as any other cat. And it's also about the other clans... and secret love? It's going to be interesting about the emotional side of some certain cats. Read it! ( )
