I was given this book as a present when I was younger, actually, because my parents knew I loved to read and they wanted to teach me about finances. It got me started with budgeting habits at a young age. ( )

This book is dedicated to my best friend. She is the person who is always there: to accept my collect phone calls; to read me only my good horoscopes; to supply all of her friends with autographed copies of my book; to tell me not to lose any more weight when I'm struggling with my lifelong diet; to tell me I was brilliant on TV event when I know I couldn't find the camera with the light on; to give Ralph and me her blessing for our costume Halloween wedding when I know she's waiting for me to come to my senses; to love Ralph, my new husband, as much as I do; to give her financial tips to our radio audience; and especially to let our family celebrate the wonderful ninety-three years she's lived on this earth.
Granny Jewel, thank you.
---N.S.G.
To my beloved parents,
Bob and Virginia Edwards
who gave me the kind of security in life
that money can't buy.
--C.E.
