This is a very cute book about a dog named Dogerella. It is a modern twist on a classic fairy tale that is great for comparing to the original and enhancing. ( )

Dogerella is Cinderella story but with dogs.
It is about a dog named Dogerella and a girl named Princess Bea who wants a dog for her 7th birthday.
Dogerella goes to a ball but is not allowed in where she could win the golden bone and become the royal pet. so when the Princess comes out sad ..Dogerella breaks loose the chain and is a friend to her.
The Princess tell everyone that Dogerella is the royal pet and get the golden bone ( )

A nice take on the Cinderella story - a princess wants a dog, while a servant dog wants a friend and a good home. An emphasis on kindness and personality, rather than on appearances (Dogerella doesn't even get into the ball - she gets chained up in the backyard for being a mutt") makes for a sweet story.
