Laddar... The New College Latin & English Dictionary (1966)av John Traupman
![]() Ingen/inga Det finns inga diskussioner på LibraryThing om den här boken. This is the only remnant from my 3 years of high school Latin, back when I thought A) I was going to be a doctor, and B) I can improve my vocabulary by learning Latin. A didn’t happen when I realized I couldn’t stand looking at internal organs. B also didn’t happen because years 2 and 3 of Latin became odious translations of forum speeches, mostly Cicero. This dictionary sadly was no help with translating forum speeches. In fact, the Latin language is truly complex enough that a mere dictionary of this size is not realistic, i.e. not useful. Save the money and go buy something else more substantial. ( ![]() Not a very good dictionary; go for Cassell's instead. Handy Yes, I know it's a very slim shot I'll ever use a Latin-English dictionary again. But Latin was such a strong point in my secondary and college education, I can't bear to get rid of the book. Maybe my boys will take Latin some day. Yeah, right. This is one of the best tools for anyone who has previously studied Latin. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
