Great short book about hibernation. I love Bear's facial expressions, too. This would be a good book for a storytime about hibernation or changing seasons or something like that.

Summary:
It is about a bear's experience fro autumn to spring. In the autumn, all the leaves fall down and birds fly alway, so the bear finds a cave and sleeps in. He sleeps for a whole winter and wakes up in the spring.

Genre:
It's a non fiction book since there is not a story book but simply introduce a bear's nature habit from autumn to spring by images, which is more about the natural information.

Critiques:
1. The medium of this book is water color. The images of this book are very vivid and lovely in warm and bright colors.
2.The vocabulary and language are very simple and clear to read and understand, which is really suitable for beginners to read.

Commentson use:
Good for teachers and parents to read aloud with pre-school students, especially with students who just begin to read. ( )

A very easy book so it is great for very young children from ages 1-3 years old. What I enjoyed about is it teaches about hibernation without coming right out and saying it. Books are always amazing when they can educate without having it shoved right in your face and spelling it out, it is simply written and the illustrations take into the woods with the "sleepy bear". I like that you go come up with your own story line and add to it with the amazing pictures, they allow for some fun additions.

i had the kids act out this very short book as part of storytime, and it worked pretty good ( )
