( ![]() A heart wrenching account of a family's struggle to find peace for their son who has OCD and Tourette's Syndrome. An amazing story of love. Completely different than any of the other Patterson books I have read. This was an oddly written book, considering it was from Cory Friedman's pov and in the first person, I am surprised it is not his name on the cover but rather James Patterson and his father. Clearly Cory made it through incredibly trying periods in his life so far and has excelled. It would have been nice if the book had his name on it. The true story of Cory Friedman, who at age 5 begins a life of misery involving tics. The book is written in Cory's voice and talks about all the meds and doctors that have attempted to help him with his Tourette's but to no avail. Finally at age 16 his parents put him in a wilderness program in Utah where the counselors teach troubled youth how to survive in winter weather. This is a catalyst for Cory. He realizes what he can do for himself with no medication, alcohol or cigarettes. Directly after this month long program he goes to a hospital treatment program for cognitive behavior therapy. This, along with Cory's determination 'cure' him. A miraculous recovery! inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
