Taking a cue from Disney, the rest of my review will be an adaptation of my review of the other book.
Eeyore's tail has gone missing again. As Eeyore and Tigger -- playing a "Private Ear" detective -- track down the tail, we follow the tail through the hands of Rabbit, Pooh, Piglet, and Owl as they each in turn find a quite ridiculous or nonsensical use for it only to lose it again.
The moral of the story is actually decent, with Eeyore learning to appreciate his tail again after growing bothered by it, but the journey is too painfully absurd for my tastes.
FOR REFERENCE:
Picture book adaptation of The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh animated segment "Eeyore's Tail Tale," from Season 2, Episode 8; first aired October 28, 1989; directed by Terence Harrison; story by Evelyn A-R Gabai, Bruce Talkington and Mark Zaslove; teleplay by Evelyn A-R Gabai and Bruce Talkington.
(Pooh Project: Phase 2! I've managed to catalog all the shorter Pooh books my family owns (see the list here). While I work through few remaining longer Pooh books we own, I'm missing my daily dose of Pooh, so I'm going to start seeking out some of the Pooh books I don't own – yet – from libraries IRL and online. See the reviews here.) ( )
