The usual problems with time travel romances, plus a blatant disregard of changing the past. She's already proven she can change the past (it would have been a lot better if she just recognized herself in the photo, rather than saw herself added), but she still goes on changing his life then. If they'd come back to now, it would have been right - no bodies found. As it is...stupid. A mad desire to live back then. A really stupid choice of stuff to give to prove the future - one pill is very like another. Show him a rubber band, a watch, those photocopies of the newspaper stories - heck, show him a zipper. A bottle of penicillin pills? sheesh. And there's a lot more (long-term) danger from an incomplete course of penicillin than there is from penicillin allergy. I don't know. The story is faintly cute, it was _not_ thought through (either from the POV of the main character or as the author), and the more I think about it the more annoyed I get. Pity, but NOT a keeper. In this time travel romance Elizabeth sets up residence in this old house that has a mysterious past. Sure enough Elizabeth starts hearing ghostly sounds and then discovers that there is a way to travel back in time to the late 1800's. There she meets a little girl and an intriguing man and soon has to choose between her exciting life in the past and the conviences of the future. I'd say this was a well told story, the time travel aspects add drama and the romance was compelling enough. Fans of historical/time travel romances should definitely give it a spin. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

HTML: After her divorce was finalized, Elisabeth McCartney felt adrift, lost. So she decided to escape to her centuries-old family home. People in Pine River had said the house was haunted, but Elisabeth never believed them. Until one night when she heard the voice of a child. She followed the voice...all the way back to 1892. Elisabeth wasn't prepared to be thrust into a Victorian world. Nor was she prepared for the emotional pull she felt for widower Jonathan Fortner and his daughter, Trista. And yet Elisabeth knew she didn't belong in his time and they could never be together. She also knew that tragedy was in Jonathan and Trista's future. If she stayed in the past, she could save them. But would that mean that they were destined to be separated by time? Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |
