Good but was hoping for a little more story. ( )

This is a cute story for children to hear about a girl who needed a new wheel chair. Though we all know wheel chairs don't go this fast. It helps bring to light how cool a wheel chair can be for children and the things they can do.

I enjoyed reading this book because it had a fun story. In both the plot and the illustrations, it contained humor. The plot was about a silly girl wanting a fast wheelchair, and the pictures showed her racing it around stores and on the road. The language also contained onomatopoeia which conveyed the sounds of the car and how fast it was going by making "zoom" long or short. Overall, the humor in the beginning of the book made the end of the book more sentimental. When she helped her brother by taking him to the hospital on her fast wheelchair, it showed the readers humor and enthusiasm for being in a wheelchair. She makes the best out of her disability, as should everyone. ( )

Lauretta is picked up from school with some great news: they are going to get her a new wheelchair.at the store none of the chairs are fast enough until she finds a wheelchair with 92 speed! they let her take it home to try it. she zooms around the house and at dinner time when her older brother cuts his finger Lauretta's chair comes to the rescue. she's faster than the car , the ambulance and is even escorted by the police to get to the hospital.
SFter her brother is released from the hospital and everyone is amazed with the speed of the chair, cool Laureta sighs when her pparents tell her they'll buy her the chair. She doesn't want it. It's too slow. I laughed so much. ( )

While shopping for a new wheelchair Lauretta cannot find one that she thinks goes fast enough! She tries many different wheelchairs until she comes across the 92-speed dirt bike wheelchair. This is the perfect wheelchair for Lauretta. The wheelchair goes so fast that she gets a speeding ticket for going too fast! Lauretta and her wheelchair end up saving the day when her brother needs to be rushed to the hospital. This story was a little farfetched for me. I like how Lauretta is not portrayed as someone who has a disability or is disabled but just a child who needs to buy a new wheelchair. I love how she is the hero in the end of the story but there were just some weird aspects of this story that had me wondering while reading this book. Why would her mother let her get this super-fast wheelchair, ride it in the street, and then let her bring her brother to the hospital to have his finger stitched from stabbing himself with a fork? What I did like about this book is that I thought about how Jason loved to go fast in "Rules" and Lauretta also loved to go fast in her wheelchair. They have a sense of feeling free when they are able to be in control and go fast. ( )
