The book is done in a narrative journal fashion. Hubie talks about the back-to school fear and the many tasks he has to accomplish before scary school itself. He dreads and complains about the whole experience (Clothes Shopping, Supplies, Shots, Check-Ups). When he gets to school though he is excited and happy to be there. The plot is person against self because he overcomes his own fears. The pencil sketches and comments in these cartoons add to the story and kids would enjoy reading them. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

In this book, Hubie talks about the time before school. Each chapter talks about a different aspect of getting ready to go back to school. The book is full of illustrations that are drawn by Hubie. We see Hubie's anxiety to go back to school. This book is a good example of fantasy because in this story his teachers are monsters. Hubie is a round character because we know a lot about him. We learn what he likes, what he dislikes, what he's anxious about etc. ( )
