What might have happened if the Germans placed a spy in the U.S. to help work on the atomic bomb? Also, what might have been the result if another spy had been sent to steal the project designs. Larsen plays with this idea in this fast-paced thriller. The story moves quickly but fails somewhat at the end with its pat ending. ( )

As the war in Europe draws to a close, several high-ranking Nazis send an amoral agent to the US to steal the plans for the atomic bomb. An English major dedicated to tracking down war criminals, is on his tail. Wildly implausible but reasonably suspenseful. ( )
