Batman: The Killing Joke (utgåvan 2008)

The art is the best of any Batman comic I've seen, the ending is darkly sweet, and the message is something that's stuck with me for years. ( )

I started reading DC comics a couple of years ago and this Graphic Novel I have always seen on on any list I've seen. This is my first time I've read it today and I'm wondering why I didn't pick it up sooner. I had some New 52 titles on my list, since I was a newbie to this world and wanted to understand the players first and to the read older titles later.

This book is a masterpiece with the writing and the art, everything about it is perfect. There's no need to put off reading this. All you need to understand, and this is true for anybody who's every heard about batman, is that Batman and Joker have been doing the same dance for years. With Joker being his crazy self and Batman catching him after all the destruction and throwing him back in jail.

Batgirl is one of my favorites and now I'm on the hunt to find me some Oracle stories, since I know her future. I want to see the Oracle years and her struggles.

If you can find this book anywhere. Get it and read it. ( )

On the surface, this appears to be a very light story. And yet, as you read it, it draws you in. It is a quick read, but an engrossing read. Batman and Joker, in some ways, seem like opposite sides of the same coin. I really liked it, but what I liked the most was the art in this one. The origin story was so-so, and I think that, as another commenter noted, we can look at that story as another one of the Joker's mad memories. I think if one looks at it that way, then the story works better (for me at least). The scheme to drive the Commissioner mad goes right along with something the Joker would do, but it just comes by so fast. And yet, and this is where the strength of the book lies, you find yourself as a reader drawn in all the way to the end. While certainly not Alan Moore's best, this is still pretty good, and I can see why it has held up after 20 years. ( )

Çizgi roman kültürüne pek aşina değilim bunun yerine manga okuyordum ama artık çizgi roman da okumak istediğim için bir dizi araştırma yaptım. Genel olarak en iyi çizgi romanların Alan Moore ve Neil Gaiman'ın eserleri olduğu sonucuna ulaştım. Daha önce kütüphaneden Gaiman'ın Marvel 1602 isimli eserini okumuştum ama pek etkilenmemiştim bu yüzden Alan Moore okumaya karar verdim.
Aslında ilk olarak Watchmen ve V for Vendetta'yı okumak istiyordum ama V for Vendetta'nın baskısı yok, Watchmen ise çok kalın.
Bu yüzden Batman Öldüren Şaka ile Moore eserlerine başladım.

Öldüren Şaka'yı okumak için en azından Batman'in filmlerini izlemek gerektiğini düşünüyorum ama izlemeden de okuyabilirsiniz sadece etkisi biraz daha az olur.
Batman en sevdiğim kahramanlardan biridir, Joker'den ise pek hoşlanmıyordum ama bu eser sonunda Joker'den de hoşlanmaya başladım.
Çizgi romana gelecek olursam öncelikle Joker'in çizimleri çok iyi, deliliğini mükemmel olarak aktarmışlar. Hikayesinde ise gereksiz bir cüce karakterler kısmı var sadece görsele yardım ediyorlar, cüceler olmasaydı mükemmel olabilirdi. Çizgi romanın eksik yönü ise Batman'in çok pasif kalması olmuş, bunun dışında eser çok güzeldi.
