Age 5-7 Source Barns and Noble Helpful tool with siblings, friends and neighbors of children with Down Syndrome. Geared towards elementary-school age. Older siblings and parents can read to younger siblings. Helps take the fearfulness out of Down Syndrome. Good partner book to Our Brother has Down Syndrome. Beautiful, captivating illustrations that hold children's attention. Age: 3-5 years Source: Pierce College at Fort Steilacoom I thought this book was adorable. It's a great introduction of Down Syndrome to children. Although I do believe considering the intended age of the book's audience, rather than focusing on the physical features of Tammy, focusing more on Tammy's positive personality traits would have been better. I believe children may not understand the exceptions of the physical features and it can possibly cause a sense of confusion. Needless to say, the book did show a great description of friendship and how individuals with Down Syndrome are capable of as many accomplishment as an individual without Down Syndrome. This book is great to introduce to children who might have questions about special needs, or maybe they will be meeting someone with special needs, This book allows them to see that children or people with special needs are amazing just like they are. ages 3 and up pierce cc and home collection inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
