Interesting short essays on various literary works and their authors

This was a very interesting read. It is amazing how close we came to not having so many great works of literature. Makes me wonder how many masterpieces we lost by those who just didn't make it happen! (

from MaryZee's bookish book box; As the title says - the backstory behind 50 books. Interesting how some of the authors only had one, and others churned out lots of reading material. And to answer the question in the title, originally it was Pansy O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. CAn you imagine GWTW without a Scarlett? This will be moving along again in another bookish book box. (
