Enjoyable. Ghanaian food & culture with a standard mystery with appropriate twists & turns ( )

I picked this up from a list of detective stories outside the USA. I did enjoy it but I'm not sure I'll go any more in the series. I enjoyed the setting in Ghana and there were alot of good elements but it didn't really come together very well until the end. The ending was well done but there was alot of meandering to get there.

A good start to a police detective series. The setting is interesting and I will definitely pick up the next one. ( )

Nice little mystery.

Quite a few cool lines like:
"His voice was like the warty, slimy surface of a toad's back. Dawson was not enamored of toads." ( )

That was tough. Oh, a well done mystery, well written, plotted, situated. It just hit me with a lot of the points where I say "oh, that's not fair!" like a petulant child. Luckily it's pretty well-resolved too. ( )
