Beth Moore's Esther study analyzes the entire book of Esther with a focus on how it relates to a woman's life. As with all of her book and video series, the book is divided into week-long homework reading followed by a video session with blanks to fill in as readers watch. The homework is broken into five segments, corresponding to five days of the week. Since Esther conveniently only has ten chapters, each week takes readers on an in-depth survey of the next chapter. Beth Moore is a smart woman, and her studies are wonderfully done. She covers the basic level of the story in the Bible, what actually happens, with reference to the holy book and to other historical references. Then, she builds upon that with analysis of how the people involved felt and thought, connections to other parts of the Bible, and application to our contemporary lives.

For this study, Moore organizes her information using several themes. As I mentioned above, she mainly devotes each week to one chapter of the book of Esther. Within that chapter, she finds an overarching theme connected to a woman's life, and connects those themes back to the main premise of the book, that it's tough being a woman. For example, one week explores how it's tough being a woman in a mean world, it's tough being a woman thrown a giant-sized problem, and so on. Moore examines these issues in the book of Esther and in her own life and, by extension, ours. I love these Beth Moore studies, and find a lot of spiritual nourishment in them. Every lesson and video session speaks to a personal aspect of my life in some way, and I grow and learn through these lessons. I highly recommend a Beth Moore study for women interested in deepening their relationship with Jesus. ( )

I am currently doing this study, and LOVE it. I am learning so much from this. Will update the review when I finish the study.

I gleaned a lot from this bible study, and look forward to following another of Beth Moore's studies. ( )
