Wanda is VERY messy eater. It's a good thing she lives with Walter the Washing Machine. He rumbles and tumbles until Wanda's clothes are clean again. Way to go, Walter! The die-cut cover gives readers a sneak peek at Wanda's laundry. And with a sturdy pop-up game at the end of the book, children can help Wanda wash her press-out messy clothes in their very own Walter the Washing Machine! The language in this story is great, with a lot of alliteration. The downside is that the protagonist tells the washing machine to "Eat Dirt!" which is probably not a phrase one would want young children repeating. ( )
