![]() Det finns inga diskussioner på LibraryThing om den här boken. There are a few times I have thrown a book in rage after reading it. This is one of those times. ( ![]() I honestly just couldn't get into the book. I tried but it just wasnt very interesting to me. I did finish it, very begrudgingly, but it just never caught my interest. To me it seemed to be about a bunch of whiny teenagers who were kind of rude to be honest. I know many people love this book, but it just wasnt for me. This was a rather depressing read but the ending was well written! My conclusion: many deaths, all the characters would probably benefit from therapy. Jokes aside, I liked how all the characters are unlikable. Like literally, almost all of them were broken in some way or two. Everyone seemed to be wallowing in sadness for a reason but I think that’s the charm of this book. The characters aren’t unlikable, so what? The story was interesting enough for me to keep up with the language which I’m not so used to since my comfort zone is mostly consisting of a big YA bubble. But I liked it enough to consider reading the other Bronte’s works! Don’t know if this is recommendable to a whole lot of people but if you want some angst, this is for you perhaps? This has been on my 'to read' list forever. I slogged through it. What an array of dysfunctional characters! I recall enjoying Jane Eyre. This one not as much. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

For the Fourth Edition, the editor collated the 1847 text with the two modern texts (Norton's William J. Sale collation and the Clarendon), and found a great number of variants, including accidentals. This discovery led to changes in the body of the Norton Critical Edition text that are explained in the preface. New to "Backgrounds and Contexts" are additional letters, a compositional chronology, related prose, and reviews of the 1847 text. "Criticism" collects five important assessments of Wuthering Heights, three of them new to the Fourth Edition, including Lin Haire-Sargeant's essay on film adaptations of the novel.
