I fell in love with these characters because they have heart, determination, and are smart, strong women. Lindsay is a homicide inspector for SFPD, lives alone with her Border collie, Sweet Martha, and is fighting a life-threatening disease. Claire is San Francisco's Chief Medical Examiner. She's Lindsay's confidant and best friend. Cindy is the new girl just starting her career as a journalist for the Chronicle, but she shows ingenuity and spunk, which earns her a spot in the club. And Jill is a rising star as an Assistant District Attorney—tough as nails and driven to succeed at all costs. Brought together by the "Bride and Groom Murders," these four put their careers, lives, and hearts on the line to put away a nasty serial killer. The suspense and plot twists are neverending and kept me riveted to each page right up to the surprise ending. If you enjoy the Alex Cross series, you will undoubtedly want to read this series. I'm on to the next book. Enjoyed the first book in this series. Looking forward to reading the next one. I originally rated this 3 stars, as it was one of the books suggested when I first joined GR, and I was like 'oh yeah, I read that one a couple of years ago. vaguely remember it, don't think it was bad...'. Well, as soon as i read it, it all came back to me. How frustratingly shallow and stereotypical the women were. yes, all we do is cry, build our career, hate men and then fall for the first cute specimen that happens to cross our path... NOT. I'm willing to cut Boxer a bit of slack, since she's a bit unstable regarding the news she got, but really... ugh. The stupid thing is, once you cut through the crappy characters, there is an okay story underneath ( even though for the revealing of the killler, the timing and writing felt off, and the prologue was just... a desperate attempt at a neat tie-up). If you've got nothing better to do (like me, being ill this week and sleeping 16 hours a day), it's an okay time-filler. Just don't get your hopes up too high... Lots of twists and turns to this story, just like the streets of San Francisco where it is based. Someone is killing brides and grooms. Someone vicious. Someone cunning. A female detective is on the case, along with her friends in the press, the coroner's office and the D.A.s office. Can they find the killer and bring him to justice? One love story also included. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
