This book should have been an easy read but I struggled to get through it. I was disappointed as I thought that it would be full of humor; I actually like my mother-in-law so I thought that I could share this with her after reading it; but thought better of it after reading it. I think I had a pre-press copy as I spent more time editing the errors and missing pictures than I did enjoying the lack-luster attempt at humor. Perhaps a GRITS woman would understand the author's subtle "bless her heart" digs at DIL's and MIL's; but my relationship with my MIL would have definitely taken a turn for the worst had I sent her this book!

While I agree with many of the reviewers in their opinions of this being a trite and insulting book, I still wish it had been given to my former MIL. She was so far from "Magnificent" I still cringe at the very thought of her and her meddeling ways. In my next marriage, whenever that may be, I will definately make sure my new MIL has at least a few of these qualities. (
