Note: I accessed a digital review copy of this book through Edelweiss. The predictable storyline, with its lesson of being kind to others (and receiving kindness in return) has enduring value for children of all ages, though the text might be best suited toward children in the upper elementary grades. The illustrations support the story and are somewhat complex in their depiction of character. This story would also be well suited to teaching children about other cultures and religions, since it does an excellent job depicting Jewish culture through illustration and text, in particular with regards to their Chanukah traditions such as eating latkes and lighting the menorah. Of course, it also answers the question of what is are latkes, and presents their importance as a staple food in Jewish culture. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
