RGG: An Hispanic teenager makes changes in her life--more academic school, anger management, weight loss--while falling in love with a nerdy boy. Some Excel students may recognize themselves in the girl or the boy. The plot is a bit thin, and the story is not so well-written, but the two main characters are engaging. Reading Level: 11-14; FP W. This book is about how a girl loved a guy but then she git in a car crash and when she did a picture fell out of her boyfriend with another girl. So then they break up and she cry's everyday. Then she touters a nerd and she thinks he's REALLY weird and then moves into his school. So then she starts feeling for him and doesn't want to but then she falls in love with him. Then they hangout every day and now they are a very good couple. As in my review i love this book so much and i think its my favorite. I like how it shows that a girl doesn't care how he looks and likes him for who he is. So i think this is the greatest book ever and its really sad how she gets her heart broken and moves on to a geek. Overall i think its sad and inspiring. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

Marissa was a believable character, but her boyfriend Rene was not. He was painted with the broadest brush possible, including every imaginable "nerd" stereotype, so that he felt more like a Saturday Night Live character than a real person. Rene's domineering mother was key to the storyline in a few chapters, but totally ignored in others. The conclusion was too contrived, and not foreshadowed sufficiently. ( )
