EVE OF DESTRUCTION picks up where EVE OF DARKNESS left off—well, more or less. Welcome to the aftermath of what happened at the end of DARKNESS (well, technically the end of Chapter One, which was set after the last chapter, which led into Chapter One… yeah, I get confused, too).

Oh my...What a book...The triangle is on fire!!!...
I really enjoyed Eve and Reed..I really like them together..He loosens her up and she grounds him and makes him feel...Alec took a hell of a turn in this book,not to mention the ending which left with a huge WTF?...I enjoyed every turn in the storyline...the questions..Eve's progress..She is really brilliant and a natural Mark,but I like the fact she doesn't see it from the beginning.However,in the next book,after some hunts I assume and expect she will gain confidence and that will be an awesome thing to see.
Something tells me that she will end up with Cain but I can't help but hope for my guy...
But the real question is..Is Eve so valuable just because Cain loves her?Or is there much more to her than that??..Both satan and Raquel are really really focused on using her but to do what?..Personally,I don't think it's just her relationship with Cain or Reed for that matter..
There is something else about Eve..Hope I'm right.. ( )

Eve of Destruction is the second book in the Marked series. Although this book is good, I was less impressed than I was with Eve of Darkness. I still love the characters and the story line, but I just wasn't into this book like I was the first.
The book picks up shortly after the first book ended. Eve wakes up from being dead with a lot of questions. Her Mark is in overdrive causing her a lot of problems. Furthermore she's attracted to both Alec and Reed, aka Cain and Abel. The two brothers that invented sibling rivalry. Her Mark training group is headed to a 'haunted' military base where they are forced to work as a team. However things get heated up when members of their group are slowly getting killed.
The story line was good but not great. I was interested in the story but it didn't keep me captivated. I do like the love triangle between Eve, Cain, and Abel. I have no idea the direction the author is going to take it, and I love that! The ending to the book left me curious to find out more. I love Eve's character as well. She's slowly coming to terms with her fate, but she wants to live life on her terms without backing down. The girl has gumption!
Overall I like this book, but I didn't love it. I have high hopes for the next book in this series, Eve of Chaos.

It's a cute series. Not really enough to hold my attention like her other books. I'm not sure why I can't get into the story, it starts out as a good read but ends up making me feel like I have missed something somewhere. ( )
