( ) The second book has Genny dealing with the fallout of being outed as a fey with an addiction to blood thanks to the virus from the vampires. Her former way of dealing with the addiction is now a source of a lot of trouble and add in the fact that she is being blackmailed to give up something rather valuable. Add in her neighbors want her out of her apt building and she is being framed for murder on top of it all makes for a rather busy time in the book. I'll be reading the next one when I want some urban fantasy with a large helping of living in London on the side. I love Genny. There, I said it. She's excellent, with her broken magic, her quirks, and her insecurities, she's still strong, and honest and loyal. And she fights till the very end. This book was so exciting, I kept on reading it in one og, and only finished at 1:30 am :) The story was detailed, and the descriptions of people and others, and places are extraordinary. I am sure I will dream of Genny, and her strange trips, and I hope I will see more of Malik in the next installment. You may also read my review here:http://www.mybookishways.com/2011/06/review-cold-kiss-of-death-by-suzanne.html The Cold Kiss of Death has lots going on. I mean, lots. Genny is the only sidhe fae in the London area, and that makes her a very attractive proposition for any supernatural being that has it in his mind that it might be time to, er, start a family. Her job with Spellcrackers.com has gotten tough with the tension between her and her satyr boss, Finn. Then there’s the sexy vampire, Malik al-Kahn, who holds the key to her past, possibly her future, and definitely her heart. She also happens to own a spell that lets her take over the body of a very ancient, beautiful vampire that Malik has a rather messy history with. Ms McLeod fills her books with intricate detailing and manages to weave many storylines together without them becoming overly entangled. There were a few moments where I lost my place, but everything came together in the end. Nothing is black and white in Genny’s world, and she’s constantly getting pushed and pulled from all sides. The Cold Kiss of Death was rather bloody in parts, but there’s a reason for this, and these scenes never seem gratuitous. If you like your London filled with fae, vamps, trolls, ghosts, and enough magic to make your toes curl, you’re in for quite a ride! I’m certainly looking forward to the next book in this series. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

All Genny wants is to live the quiet life and to do her job at Spellcrackers.com, but there's her tangled personal life to sort out first. She's being haunted by ghosts who want her help. Her witch neighbours want her evicted. Genny's sort-of-Ex - and now her new boss - can't decide whether he wants their relationship to be business or pleasure. And then there's the queue of vampires all wanting her to paint the town red - how long will it be before they stop taking no for an answer? But when one of her human friends is murdered by sidhe magic, Genny is determined to find the killer. She needs help to find the real murderer, and that means calling on some of the most capricious and seductive fae - but her search is hindered by the vampires, who have their own political agenda. All the evidence points to Genny - she's the only sidhe fae in London - and she's named the main suspect; it's not long before she's on the run, not just from the police, but from some of London's most powerful supernaturals.
