Summary:
Henry gets allowance for doing chores around his house each week. Each time Henry gets his allowance he immediately buys things he wants like candy or magazines. Then Henry comes across a toy he really wants but he has spent all his allowance and has no money to but it. In order to buy the toy Henry must save his allowance of several weeks. When he's finally saving enough money grandma comes visit and has a gift for Henry. It is the toy he had been wanting. At last Henry has all the allowance he has saved and decides to buy ice cream for his family. Henry has learned about saving money and about working hard for the things you really want.

I think this is a great book that teaches children about working hard towards the things one really wants. It has a good lesson to teach. The illustrations are also colorful and filled with detail. Great book for elementary children who are learning about money and about sharing and caring for others. ( )
