Very great book to read-aloud to students in grades 4th-5th. They will love to see the colorful pictures and be able to see all the math concepts combined in one book. It introduces proportions in a fun and exciting way. The book does not really have a main character, it is more centered towards proportions, shrinking and enlarging, and measurements. The main concept is centered around mathematics. If would definitely read this book out loud to my students to introduce ratios. ( )

A clever play on ratios done with pictures in such a way very young children can understand. It's fairly well-done. Added on at the end are detailed explanations of how each comparison was calculated - these are really cool for adults. I think my 4-yr-old just barely got it; at least it kept her interest. ( )

not so good one

This book deals with relative size (i.e. "If your dog were as big as a dinosaur... his dinner would fill up your living room."). I think this is an interesting subject that will capture many kids' imaginations, and the art is fun. It isn't a must-have, but worthwhile. ( )
