This book is a series of lectures / essays collected from Phyllis A. Bird's writings / lectures over the years. I appreciated the effort required to read the book for two reasons: 1) She shared a nuanced analysis of Genesis 2 - 3 which helped me removed "the fall" from my vocabulary; 2) She completes the book by sharing her perception of the "authority of the Bible". As I have read my way out of fundamentalism, reading such topics continues to help me move toward a better understanding of where I am on the 'religious' spectram.
