REVIEWED: The Resurrectionist WRITTEN BY: Wrath James White PUBLISHED: December, 2009 Wild, original idea that is not for the feint of heart - violent with descriptive scenes of torture and sex. However, if you don't mind these things, the book is great! It took me a bit to really get into the plot - I kept "guessing" what was going to occur and expecting mediocrity. However, the author caught me every time with twists in the plot and really blew me away by the ending. Definitely recommend! A splatterfest with a serial killer whose modus operandi is something I'd never read before. Sick, twisted, disgusting: all accurately describe The Resurrectionist. I had to skip over many of its scenes of graphic violence. And, had the story only consisted of that type of horror, I would've rated this book 1 or 2 stars. (When I'm reading horror, I like more to it than just buckets of blood.) Thankfully, what sets this book apart from the rest of its splattery cohorts are its characters; namely, a serial killer who technically hasn't killed anyone. Only recommended to gorehounds. For everyone else, I recommend the movie based on the book, Come Back to Me (2014). The movie differs from the book but, overall, it is somewhat easier on the mind and the stomach...only a little bit easier though. 4 stars Note: I read the December 2009 version published by Leisure Books. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

The magic design was unique, and the hotel fascinating. I kept being drawn forward by wanting to know what magic ran everything, and how the problem would be solved.
But I would have liked a little more time in the end, instead of rushing through the wrap up.
Overall a decent read, with well picked narration for the audio book.
You'll love this story if you enjoy happily ever afters, escape type plots, and magical flare. ( )
