It's extremely creative and abstract, which is mind blowing. I love that the little girl was the one who reconnected the nobbles. If it were someone else, though, they probably would've been judgmental. The younger children would especially love this text because it shows the value of friendship and courage. ( ) This unusually abstract book tells a story about a strange little lonely creature who longs for company. To find somebody to talk to though, it must venture into a new, tangible place we call the city. I understand many people enjoy this book, but it crossed my tolerance level for odd, unusual literature. Themes include friendship, isolation, overcoming fear...but in the reading of the story I am blinded to those ideas by my frustration with the weird fantastical elements. However, this level of whimsy is frequently enjoyed by children, and is sure to become a favorite of many. This is a story about a creature called the Nobble who is very lonely. He lives in a world "between friday and saturday." He hopes to meet someone else. So he decides to venture out of his comfort and go to the glow between those days. He then discovers a city, with buildings, cars, cats, and a little girl. The little girl tries to speak with him but he is so afraid that he runs off. After a while, he tries to listen to the little girl and she teaches him a few things about the world. He stumbles upon the presence of another Nobble. They both think the girl for introducing them and go back to the land of the Nobble. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
