A perfect alphabet book for toddlers. Every page in this book includes a different letter and a different thing that begins with that letter. It is written in the same verse for every letter so it is predictable as well. ( )

This alphabet book was very different than any alphabet book I have seen. I really enjoyed the way Alison Jay went about illustrating her book for each letter. Every letter followed a journey between a boy and girl. The illustrations she used for each letter and object that went along with it created a scene in the background. For instance she would have Ii is for Ice cream and have an illustration of a boy getting an ice cream cone from an ice cream truck on the beach. The ending ended with the letter Z and that stood for the Zoo. Alison created an illustration full of zoo animals for the letter Z. I think this made the book more interesting to readers. ( )

I don't know what it is about Alison Jay's illustrations: I like them even though I don't love the style. It makes no sense, I know. The colors are great, and I think that's partly it.
