Good can come out of bad! Put aside your differences! This is a really good book for students to understand the concept of different is good and friendship can and will come out of differences. ( )

Selma and Lily are two best friends who find themselves in a huge fight over whose lunch is better. The fight escalates until the whole school is involved! The friends learn to look past their differences and remain friends. I thought the book does a great job at naming what each girl felt, and teaches the reader to do the same. ( )

This book is about 2 best friends who end up mad at each other because they insulted one another on what they had for lunch. This caused chaos in the schools amongst other students when they started making fun of each other’s lunches and then being mean in general with insults on how they looked and dressed. It ended up in a food fight. This made the best friends really sad and they ended up apologizing and sharing each other’s sandwiches. They realized how good it was even thought it was different. They suggested that everyone in the whole school try swapping lunch and they did. I like how the illustrator made the images on the entire page. The colors are warm and neutral and appealing to the eye. They made sure that the images were big enough to see and had everyone in it. I love this book. It teaches young children a very important lesson on bullying. The children can learn to accept one another's things even though it may look different. ( )
