Alright, the "negative" first: I'm not sure how true the storyline is to actual Dante (he's now a Templar Knight) - however, it's based on a game based on the story and I imagine it does follow the basic line of the game, so we can blame the discrepancies on EA (who made the game). ;) Then, as I say, it is very basic. There's little depth of story here.

However. This is the most gorgeous thing I have ever looked at. Therefore, I do not care in the least that the story is very basic and not quite Dante. Because these illustrations are just, insanely beautiful. I would easily hang just about any page from this work up on my wall. The art by Latorre is just stunning, unbelievably stunning. This far surpasses any other illustrated work I've ever seen and I'd recommend everyone read it, if only for the art. ( )
