Jack and Annie are able to travel through time and space within a tree house owned by enchantress, Morgan le Fey. It's her magic that allows the children to travel and go on adventures. As the epic tales of Annie and Jack continue in this novel, they return to the magic tree house. This story takes them into the setting of the Revolutionary War with patriot soldiers and George Washington. I would use book 22 about the Revolutionary War in a fourth or fifth-grade social studies class as a class read-aloud book. Mary Pope Osborne does a wonderful job of creating a fantasy time machine where Jack and Annie are able to explore historical moments while teaching the readers about the said historical events. This book in particular is about the Revolutionary War where George Washington travels across the Delaware River on Christmas. Jack and Annie are there to originally help their friend Morgan solve a riddle but end up motivating George Washington to continue fighting for the futures of American children. The Magic Tree House series is excellent for younger grade students who aren't able to sit through a textbook lecture just yet. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
