Just love the concept...and love her writing. Ending was interesting and clearly there will be another book. Clearly shows the incredible persecution of the Jews in the Middle Ages. Old time Catholicism which is dated...wish she could have put a more Jesuit spin to it.

I enjoyed the historical aspect of the story when Toby visits Rome. But, I really wasn't interested in the rest of the story. I think what I liked most were the descriptions of Rome, because the rest of the story fit too easily together. Toby arrives and everything magically seemed to fall into place perfectly. I struggled to keep my attention on the story. ( )
