"Lulu was a thumb sucker. She and her thumb were very happy together in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, Lulu and her thumb were best friends. espite the urging of her family and the teasing of her friends, Lulu just would not give up her thumb-sucking habit. That is, until one day . . . when Lulu made up her mind to stop. And to help herself and thumb suckers all over the world, Lulu developed a program one with steps. Twelve steps, to be exact. Join Lulu in her quest to kick the habit as she goes through the steps in this funny and insightful picture book. old in a light-hearted manner and filled with good humor about a universal and important concern, Thumb Love will be embraced by parents and caregivers alike. This is not an issue book but a story that will resonate with anyone who is or was a kid."… (mer)

Thumb Love is a cute little picture book that acts as a sort of self help book for those seeking to rid themselves of the pesky childhood habit. The book is aimed towards a younger audience and it doesn't have much of a classroom use other than the fact that it is silly and entertaining. Nonetheless, this was a very great book with good artwork, and a style of writing that is enjoyable for children and adults.

This was one of those unusual books that Elisa Primavera does that I really like. The ongoing back and forth between the little girl and her talking thumb is comical though I'm pretty sure that some of it would go over a younger reader's head. I don't know how an child audience would perceive it, but I liked it. ( )
