These number-series book (300, 400, 500, 1000, ) are great books for inspiration and just plain sighing over. You'll get your money's worth with any of these books. (With one exception: don't pay hundreds of dollars for the "500 Baskets" book because sooner or later they're going to republish it at a resonable price.) ( )

One of the most inspiring books I own, full of creative genius in multiple media with a clearly contemporary slant. I never tire of looking at it for its sheer beauty and depth. ( )

This book is a visual feast. It consists of three hundred pages of full color photographs of recent fiber arts, divided into these categories: Wearable Art & Couture, Fashion Accessories, Soft Furnishings & Vessels, Tapestries & Display Art, and Art Quilts. Each item is numbered, and is captioned only with its creator's name and country. For more information about the works you must turn to the "Image Directory" in the back of the book, which supplies each item's title, size, and materials used. I would have preferred these data to be included alongside the photos, but on the other hand having longer captions would probably have complicated the layout and perhaps detracted from the visual effect of the photos.
There is no how-to information in this book. I would not classify it as a craft book, but rather as a portable, mini art gallery. I have enjoyed studying the photos and find them inspiring. Some of the pieces are rather extreme, but even so are good illustrations of the possibilities of fiber arts.
I'm pleased also to note that although it is a paperback, the pages are bound in sewn signatures and the covers are durable.
