Meh. Not a good idea to use this as your guide. Way too much emphasis on absurdism and the immediate historical allegory of WWII.

Standard study guide to The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway.

Ending my little R. L. Stevenson adventure, i pulled out the Cliffs Notes for Kidnapped to see if it helped me better like the book, and it did a little, but not much......I learned what a Jacobite is (was) sort of......but the intricate relationships leading to war still completely elude me. And i have to wonder who his audience was when the book was initially written that understood it any better....after all, it was written as a children's adventure book and maybe they were really up on these Scottish tribal battles, but it would be surprising.....onward and upward....½

A stranger came to a town. There were no stores in the town,and the stranger set a store there. A lot of people came to the store,and sometimes special customers visited there. The special customers were all famous people,and they would be happy after they visited the storanger's store.
This story is very interesting for me.

Good indepth study of this classic novel. I'm not sure about putting this in this list. But it is a book.

I find this a valuable guide to have around as I grade essays on by students. These days, the internet is a more useful tool for searching for plagiarism but good old cliffs notes are still useful. As for the book's real use, it is a good means of interpreting and studing the novel. I always find these notes helpful for checking and verifying my own understanding as for a guick summary. They should never be used as a substitute for the actual book.
