J. Michael Dolan

**** A well-deserved 5 stars for this author. This was one tough book to read, and not due to Dolans writing, which was was incredibly insightful and descriptive, but because of the subject matter itself.
Auschwitz prison / death camp for those considered sub-human during WW2, the uprising and the stories of 4 women who fought back with all they had. There is a sign at the entrance to the camp that reads WORK WILL SET YOU FREE, as the author said, it should have read " Abandon hope all ye who enter here." Not all did.
I said it was tough to read because J. Michasel Dolan gets into your soul. he takes you by your elbow ,and guides you through the horrors, the truths, without averting your eyes.
But this is a book. And that is the readers blessing. We DIDN'T have to live it daily, you can do what i did......read some and then put the book on
your chest as you absorb the words you just read. Look around at YOUR reality , take a breath and then read some more.
A veritable honor to have read The Trumpets of Jericho.… (mer)
