I read the Robin Kane series in the late '60s shortly after the books were published. I enjoyed reading about girls who were near to my own age, and enjoyed the adventures that they found themselves in. At the time, I recall they were my favorite books, and I believe that I enjoyed them more than Nancy Drew, as they were more modern day at the time.

Recently, I purchased the series to read to my two sons. They also enjoyed this book, although perhaps not as much as the Hardy Boys.

Although I did enjoy reading them 40 years later, as an adult they didn't quite stand the test of time for me. The characters were not as developed as I would have liked, and as a parent, I kept wondering why they did some of the things they did (e.g. going after a man with a gun who said he would shoot them if they came back.) However, I'm sure that they would still be very enjoyable to tween girls who like mystery and adventure.… (mer)
