The beauty of this book, and it is beautiful, is that it doesn't exactly tell you how to do anything. It suggests and inspires.
So, if you want a step 1, step 2, step 3 book, maybe this isn't for you. If you find it good to have something that shows you how an amazing dress (not at all like Carol Burnett's) was made from curtain, and you have enough know-how to realize you can do that, this is perfect.

It made me want to find, dust off, and set up my sewing machine. I know enough to make everything in this book, or a version there of. It made me think of ways I could construct things from other things I hadn't though of before. It got me excited about reusing some fabric I've been hanging onto because I couldn't bear to throw it away. And maybe, just maybe I'll finally get around to knitting that shopping bag out of shopping bags I keep promising myself I'm going to make.… (mer)
