Moral Code is an engaging technothriller set in a plausible near future where the fields of robotics, nanotechnology and AI have made significant gains. The story focuses on Keira, a scientist who has developed a sentient AI programmed with a moral code, and Roy, an entrepreneur who has developed remarkable and highly capable nanotechnology. When their technologies merge, the unexpected happens. A villainous businessman who engages in corporate espionage and sabotage, adds even more tension.
This story was a fascinating and thought-provoking examination of both the negative and positive possibilities for AI and nanotechnology. The science and ethics were explained well. The characters felt real and relatable. I liked the portrayal of women in STEM fields and the focus on preventing child abuse and human trafficking. The narration worked well for the story and characters. Thank you to BooksForward for an audiobook copy to review.… (mer)

This is an informative and entertaining book for children. Kids will get to know about different career options in STEM. The information is encapsulated in the form of a story where students take a trip to different locations and interview professionals about career options in their field.

The illustrations are good. The glossary at the end is helpful. It is great to see diversity in the people being interviewed. I'll recommend this book for primary and middle school kids.

Note: I received a free copy of the book from the publisher. This review is my personal opinion and has not been influenced anyway by anyone.… (mer)
